The Cob Barn is an enchanting forest retreat set on the northern slopes of Mt Arthur high above the village of Lilydale in north east Tasmania.

Nestled on the edge of a pond with a rainforest backdrop, and adjacent to our peony farm, this secluded setting is an ideal place to unwind. There is a small rowboat on the pond for your enjoyment or relax around the fire pit at night under a starry heaven. The Cob Barn can accommodate two people but is not suitable for children.

The building is a unique hand-shaped structure made from cob, a mixture of clay, sand and straw with interior lime rendered walls. Inside The Cob Barn, you can enjoy the warmth of a delightful wood fire and can relax with a selection of DVDs, books, games and music. The kitchen is well equipped for meal preparation, with hot plates, an oven and an espresso coffee machine.

There is an easy walking track through the temperate rainforest behind The Cob Barn where you can wander beneath giant manferns, Blackwoods, Sassafras, Mountain Ash, Dogwood and Musk.

The Cob Barn is just 45 45-minute drive from Launceston airport. They are located 6 km from Lilydale.
