Competition Period 

  • Commences at: 12.01am (AEST) on Wednesday 22 July 2026 
  • Ends at: 11.59pm (AEST) on Tuesday 28 July 2026 

Selection of Winners: At the end of the competition period, the prize winners will be drawn at random by the Promoter. Winners will be contacted in writing with further details.  

Prizes

There are 10 prizes to be won, comprising:

  • 2 x Guard of Honour Prize Packages, each for two (2) people, including:  
    • A Guard of Honour experience for two (2) people at Round 21 Hawthorn vs North Melbourne, 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season 
    • Two (2) match day tickets at Round 21 Hawthorn vs North Melbourne, 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season 
    • One (1) Launceston Merchandise Pack
    • (Total value: $1,460 per prize package)
  • 1 x 2026 Hawthorn Football Club Signed Guernsey (valued at $1,000)  
  • 1 x Hawthorn 25 Years in Tasmania Wool Scarf (valued at $150)  
  • 1 x $250 HawksNest Voucher
  • 5 x $100 HawksNest Vouchers

The total prize pool is valued at up to $4,820 (AUD). 

Eligibility

Participation in this Competition is only open to those persons aged 18 years or over. Employees (and their immediate families) of the City of Launceston are ineligible to enter. The City of Launceston reserves the right, at any time, to verify the eligibility of an Entrant and to disqualify any Entrant that does not meet the Eligibility Criteria.  

Entry

This Competition is a game of chance and will be randomly drawn by the promoter using a random selection generator. To enter, eligible persons must complete the Entry Procedure during the Competition Period. Entries not completed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will be rejected and any late, incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible Entries will be deemed invalid. Entries will be deemed accepted at the time of receipt by City of Launceston and not at the time of transmission. Entries are limited to one per Entrant. Where an Entrant attempts to submit more than one Entry, all additional or subsequent Entries will be ineligible for a Prize. Consents and warranties on entry Entrants understand, acknowledge and agree that:  

  • By participating in this Competition, their name may be displayed on the websites or social media pages of City of Launceston.  
  • Their personal details will be added to the City of Launceston email database for the purpose of contact for future promotions and Council marketing information  

Prize Conditions 

The 10 prize winners will be randomly drawn at 10.00am on Wednesday 29 July 2026. Winners will be notified by email and their initials published on this webpage for 30 days. 

Competition winners: LH, JW, JW, DA, RS, AS, AS, JG, TP, JH.

If the City of Launceston is unable to contact a winner after making all reasonable efforts, or a winner does not claim their prize within 48 hours, the prize will be forfeited and redrawn. If the subsequent winner does not claim their prize within 48 hours, the prize will be forfeited and will not be redrawn. 

It is the responsibility of entrants to ensure their contact details remain current throughout the Competition Period. 

The Guard of Honour Prize Packages are valid only for Hawthorn Football Club Round 21. Winners are responsible for arranging and meeting all costs associated with travel to and from the event and any expenses not expressly included in the prize. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. Gift vouchers are subject to the issuing retailer's terms and conditions, including any expiry dates. If the Hawthorn Football Club Round 21 match, Guard of Honour Experience or any component of the prize is cancelled, postponed or altered for reasons beyond the control of the City of Launceston, the City of Launceston accepts no responsibility for any resulting loss or inconvenience. 

A prize may only be substituted if the substituted prize is of the same or greater value than the original prize and the winner either agrees in writing, or the original prize is unavailable due to circumstances beyond the control of the City of Launceston and reasonable attempts are made to reach agreement with the winner are unsuccessful. 

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the City of Launceston (and their respective officers, contractors, employees, agents and representatives) will not be liable for any personal injury, loss (including loss of opportunity), damage (including, but not limited to, direct, indirect or consequential loss), cost, expense or claim arising from or in relation to the Competition. 

Variation to Competition 

The City of Launceston may in its absolute discretion, but subject to State and Territory laws, modify, suspend, cancel, recommence or extend this Competition as appropriate if:  

  • For any reason, this Competition cannot be run as planned due to technical, hardware or software failures or interferences, or changes to third party sites or platforms, which affect the administration, operation, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition;  
  • the level of interest or participation in the Competition is insufficient or there has been some delay in commencing the Competition; or  
  • the Entry Procedure, determination of Winner or delivery of Prizes is prevented hindered or affected by any external agent or event beyond the reasonable control of the City of Launceston.  

The Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with any social media platform provider (including, but not limited to, the providers of Facebook and Instagram or any of their related entities (Provider).  

Each entrant agrees to release any Provider from all liability in connection with, or in relation to, the Promotion. These Conditions of Entry do not intend to conflict with, or derogate from, a Provider’s terms and conditions of use, statement of rights and responsibilities (if any), data use policy or any other terms and conditions imposed by the relevant Provider on entrants from time to time to use the relevant social media platform.
