Walk 4 Hope Launceston Huntington’s Australia

The Walk 4 Hope is an annual community event and fundraiser, designed for all ages and abilities, with pram and wheelchair-friendly course that you can complete at your own pace.

Jointhem as they walk together as a community to show people impacted by Huntington's disease that they are not alone.

All owalks are approximately 4 kilometres long, but the most important thing is taking part. They encourage everyone to walk as much as their abilities allow and enjoy the day with family, friends, and the HD community.

Accessibility Information

  • Welcomes and assists people who have challenges with learning, communication, understanding and behaviour. (includes people with autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, acquired brain injury (ABI), dyslexia and dementia)
  • Train your staff in communicating with people with learning or behavioural challenges
  • Use Plain English / easy read signage and information (includes menus and emergency information)
  • Caters for people who use a wheelchair.
  • Have step free outdoor pathways (includes picnic areas, barbecues and shelters)
  • Have an accessible public toilet which is unlocked
  • Have a wheelchair accessible toilet / shower and change room
  • Have wheelchair accessible picnic tables (picnic tables require 720mm knee clearance and 800mm maximum height)
  • Have at least one wheelchair accessible parking space with wheelchair accessible signage clearly displayed (International standards are 3200mm wide x 2500 mm high)
