The Cellar Door, Vineyard and Winery is situated in Pipers River Tasmania.
They are family-owned and operated. Alex and Lara launched their first label in 2014, Alejandro – Spanish for Alexander, focusing on alternative varieties suited to the hot climate of the Murray Darling Region.
They bought their property in 2016 and shifted their focus to Tasmania's cool-climate Pipers River region, creating labels including Cazadora, Son of a Bull and Baila con Toro, and producing premium Tasmanian wines such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Gewürztraminer. All of these wines are sold from the Cellar Door.
Lara and Alex have travelled extensively in Spain and love the culture, so their labels have a Spanish theme. From their cellar door, they do platters by booking and offer beer, gin, vodka and brandy also distilled on site from waste wine products.
Accessibility Information
- Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids)
- Use floors/coverings which are slip resistant, firm and smooth
- Have grab rails in the bathroom
- Provide seating in common areas including reception area
- Caters for people who use a wheelchair.
- Have doorways which are easy to open and have lever handles (doorways 850mm or wider when open and not heavy)
- Have an accessible public toilet which is unlocked
